Arnesa A. Howell is a full-time freelance writer based in Washington, D.C. Her work has appeared in regional and national magazines including People, USA Weekend, Heart & Soul, Real Health, and The Baltimore Sun's UniSun. She is also a contributor to Money Magazine.
Arnesa was a featured journalist on the California public radio show, "Valley Politics in the African-American Community," for her coverage of cancer in the black community. She has also been a guest speaker at Howard University and American University in Washington, D.C., and Temple University in Philadelphia. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Journalism & Women Symposium.
Arnesa began her journalism career covering health care on Capitol Hill for an independent publishing company, after having worked as a part-time general assignment reporter for Knight-Ridder Newspapers. She earned a B.A. from Howard University.
